Meet your IT Team

Stan Durst

Chief Executive Officer

Stan has enjoyed a very successful 45+ year career in the IT/Telecommunications industry. He is a proud veteran of the United States Navy, where he began his technical training in telecommunications. Upon returning to civilian life, he became the Operation’s Manager at ABC Telecommunications in Seattle, Washington where he continued to refine his technical and client services skills. He then moved to Hawaii to become Government Project Manager for Telecom Hawaii.

In 1985 Stan was recruited by Norstan Communications, Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio where he became the Director of Operations.  Following that move, he became the Director of Telecommunications at the University of Cincinnati, and then the IT Site Manager and Consultant Network Analyst at Fidelity Investments for 16 years before retiring in 2007 to pursue his dream of starting his own IT company, DurstCOM.

Sandra Groene

Sandy Groene

Chief Financial Officer

Sandy began her technical career at Norstan Communications, Inc. in1980, designing business telecom systems. During her 17 time at Norstan, she also served the company as Design Supervisor, Installation Manager and Account Executive. Sandy achieved the prestigious President’s Club three years and was named the first “Norstan Outstanding Employee” out of 2,500 colleagues, for her company loyalty, business ethics, and community involvement.

In 1996, Sandy joined Convergys Corporation as Senior Program Manager, responsible for a $10 million client portfolio of telecom billing systems and the successful project management of the company’s large Y2K and Number Portability projects, bringing them in on time and on budget.

Sandy retired from Convergys in 2014 and joined DurstCOM as Chief Financial Officer. Sandra is committed to her community. She has been involved with Big Brothers and Sisters Winners Walk Tall, and is a volunteer at Goodwill Industries.

Justin Rue

Senior Technical Consultant

Justin Rue has worked in the technology field for nearly 10 years. He joined DurstCOM in 2016 and has experience in many aspects of Information Technology, ranging from networking to network security and phone systems. He has extensive IT consulting experience working with many business segments, including law, automotive, manufacturing, financial institutions, marketing, and charitable organizations.

He began his technology career at a Cincinnati distributor of CNC machinery and travelled throughout the U.S. installing, programing and repairing equipment.  Justin excels in troubleshooting skills, security, implementations and client relations.
